The 2 year-olds are becoming more & more independent and able to achieve higher milestones. Below are some things your child will master while in the 2 year-old room:
- Social skills, teaching children to play alongside their friends
- Speaking in sentences using 2-4 words. Repeating words that they hear
- Storytime – Able to name items in a book
- Exercise & Movement are very important at this age, they will have fun, moving to interactive music and dance
- Learning Worksheets more advanced, introducing tracing
- Art projects, gluing multiple pieces with crayons or paint
- Activities are more advanced with multiple pieces. Sorting of shapes & colors
- Independent skills, going potty on their own, pulling down & up their pants
- Sensory play using a variety of materials
- Begin following 2 step instructions, such as “Stand up & Go to the carpet”
- NAME recognition using fun games
- Begin using a regular size cup & full size spoon
- At 2 1/2 , will begin learning how to make their bed, (sheet & blanket)
- CLASSROOM RULES – They will learn an additional 3 rules to follow
Playground & Outside Grass Activities
Learning great skills such as running, climbing, jumping & walking up & down stairs.
POTTY TRAINING & Transitioning to Underwear
Your child will already be in PULL-UPS when they are moved into the 2’s.
All children will sit on the potty each day.
At 2 ½ your child will be required to be in UNDERWEAR, but DO NOT worry, we will help your child ALL THE WAY!
